Finally back on the internet

So i some how got on the internet in my cabin right now during our siesta that we got. We are all done with our challenge training and all the rest of the counselors are here now and that is pretty sweet. I like all of them so far lol but I am sure I wont have many problems with them... I bet I probably wont have any hopefully... soooo yesterday we hiked to the boulder pile which was about a mile hike and then we took the vans up to spruce mountain... on top of spruce mountain its about 7,500 ft and it was pretty sweet... I took some cool pics which i hope to get on fb tonight if the internet is working up at the LG... but overall everything is going really really well... and I find myself getting up at 7 pretty easy now which is good!! But that is all for now... I may write some more tonight... Peace

Another day of training

So another day of training for the challenge course. Today we did the circuit course which was pretty sweet b/c we got to do the zip line at the end again... then we started rescue and we were shown one situation... after that we headed up for lunch... right when we got up there it started pouring down rain for about 15 min with some hail... after lunch we were supposed to do rescue situations but because of the rain... so we went and talked about what we were going to facilitate for the horse staff on Friday... ill be facilitating by myself which doesn't bother me, i actually volunteered for that... ill be doing The Muse and Enemy Protector... so that's on Friday... after supper we went and did the Giant Swing which was AMAZING!!! I have video of that and some other stuff plus pics that I will try to put on Facebook sometime... well tomorrow night we have the night off and I'll write some more later... Peace

Climbing and zip line

Long day again... We started at the Pamper Pole probably my least favorite of the high ropes... after that we headed out to the Promised Land... to get there we had to take the most outback like roads for like 5 miles... we got to our spot to park the van and then had to walk for about 20 min... we finally arrived at our climbing spot... we ate lunch and then started climbing... we had three different climbing spots but I did just two of them... I first took a shot at my first climb and made it about 6/8 of the way up... I did that climb again a little later and made it all the way to the top... I then went to another climb and did that one easily... it was the easiest of the three... I then did the first climb I did again and then did it again... it was by far the most fun... it was hard but not too hard so I was able to get it done... we then got back in time for supper... after supper we went down to the challenge course and did the flying squirrel and the zip line... the zip line was sooooooooo cool... I was able to do it in complete darkness and it was amazing... and for a side note... people think it is funny that I say pop... everyone else says soda... LAME... o well ill be the odd man on that, that doesn't bother me at all... tomorrow we get to do circuit and rescues... Peace

1st day of training

So today was the first day of training... LOTS OF FUN but VERY TIRING!! We started with breakfast at 7:30am which was very delicious... had the choice of cereal or this amazing egg, ham and cheese casserole. From there we had some intros and icebreakers with our challenge staff and talked about what our overall goal is as a challenge staff member... from then to lunch we learned and played low rope challenges and different field games... those were pretty sweet and I can't wait to teach them to the campers!! We then had lunch at noon and after that we continued on our low rope challenges till lunch which was at 5:30pm and was amazing... Lasagna... after dinner we learned three different knots.. figure 8.. figure 8 follow through.. and the butterfly knot... after that we learned some things to think about when briefing and debriefing activities... and now I am here after taking a nice well deserved shower writing this blog... tomorrow starts at 7:15am sharp and I get to do the zip line tomorrow!!!!
